I consider these paintings journal pages-a compilation of the information that comes into my daily life... an unofficial, ongoing series I call "Day in Day Out".The work is a layering of experience, thoughts and ideas made from a variety of materials: paper, plaster, cloth, and paint. Some of the materials are new, some have considerable history and emotional meaning for me.
Many of the images both seen and unseen in these pieces came from papers left in a large secretary I inherited when my Grandmother died. I have experienced a profound satisfaction in providing a second life for them.
